James is based in our Cheltenham office, advising both UK and expat clients on a range of financial planning areas including UK and offshore financial planning and investments.
Experience
James is Chartered Financial Planner with more than 13 years’ experience. His interest in investment markets stems from a young age when his parents and grandparents would watch the share prices on Ceefax and Teletext! This prompted a lifelong interest in numbers and investments which saw him study accountancy, economics and business studies at A level, before securing a degree in economics at Liverpool John Moores University.
After initially qualifying as a Financial Planner in 2009, in the depths of the financial credit crash, James worked at a range of firms including Sanlam, HSBC, RBS and Grant Thornton. He joined The Fry Group in 2018.
Outside of work
James is a keen golfer with a handicap of 12. He also enjoys football – both playing in a local ‘5-a-side’ team and supporting Liverpool FC. Originally from North Wales, James is also a proud Welsh rugby fan. As a new father he’s currently enjoying family life.
