CHARLIE BUXTON

Charlie joined The Fry Group in 2019 as a Portfolio Manager and has worked on the Managed Portfolio Service since launch.

Based out of the Hong Kong office, Charlie is responsible for managing discretionary strategies that are used by our Hong Kong, Dubai and UK offices. He works on constructing a range of investment strategies across various asset classes and currencies and is responsible for the overall performance of our Managed Portfolio Service.  

Experience

Charlie has worked in investment management for over 11 years, initially at Tilney Bestinvest, followed by the Charities desk of Investec Wealth & Investment and then latterly at investment boutique Hurley Partners. Charlie’s experience covers fund research, portfolio construction and asset allocation.  

As well as being a Type 9 Responsible Officer, Charlie is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, holding the Institute’s highest qualification with a Masters in Wealth Management, alongside the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing; Charlie graduated from the University of St Andrews with an MA Hons in Spanish.  

Outside of work

Charlie enjoys travelling, reading and most sports, including playing cricket, squash, tennis and football locally in Hong Kong.
