Gary brings a wealth of knowledge relevant to the requirements of The Fry Group’s clients in Singapore, including nearly 20 years’ experience of retirement, tax and pension planning, in both the UK and Singapore
A core focus of The Fry Group’s offering is UK financial planning services for British expatriates in Singapore. With an increasingly complicated picture around overseas tax and financial planning, including a shifting landscape around overseas pensions and changes in other elements of UK tax legislation, The Fry Group constantly looks to enhance and evolve its business to align itself as closely as possible with clients’ requirements. Gary will bring additional specialist knowledge that will build on the expertise of the existing advisory team at The Fry Group, and will benefit clients in their financial planning.
“We’re thrilled to have Gary join the business in Singapore,” said David Pugh, Director, The Fry Group Singapore. “His experience and understanding of working with expatriates, as well as his values around client service and transparency makes him very well-suited to our approach and philosophy.”
Gary Smithson, commenting on his new role at the firm, added, “The Fry Group has a unique and highly focused holistic financial planning business with market-leading standards in advice, transparency and client servicing, which makes them a firm that very much appeals to me. This, coupled with its impressive investment offering through its recent partnership with Independent Strategic Group and their joint venture, Purple Asset Management, is a hugely compelling business that I’m thrilled to be joining.”
“In addition, the recent “Best Adviser” award for a global business from International Adviser is a great testament to the quality that The Fry Group has within its team, and is another great reason to join,” he said.
Gary has also previously acted as Senior Manager and Professional Trustee at audit, account, tax and advisory firms, as well as advising private and SME clients on Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS) and Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs).
